The Director of Children’s Ministry is responsible to oversee all programs made available for infants through 4th grade at Mission Point Community Church. The programming should be in keeping with the church’s vision of Inviting Everyone Everywhere To Life In Christ!


Oversee all paid and volunteer personnel within the Children’s Ministry Department (KidzPoint Coordinator, KidzPoint Assistant, Wonderville Coordinator, Wonderville Assistant, Coordinator of Family Care, Worship Team, Registration Team, etc.) to provide cohesive programming.
Communicate with parents about key policy updates, upcoming events, monthly themes, volunteer/serving opportunities, etc. in a predictable rhythm.
Create a healthy, welcoming environment for children and parents alike.
Ensure all staff and volunteers have completed the MP Ministry Agreement and a current background check. Ensure these are documented in Planning Center Online for accountability and records.
Liaison with the Worship Team to provide effective programming that fits the overall culture of the Children’s Ministry department.
Interact with parents to build relationships, be visible and answer any questions.
Identify, initiate and implement plans to address special Sundays like Baptism Sundays, promotion Sundays, holiday services, etc.
Develop a consistent volunteer base. Determine the frequency of volunteer scheduling, implement a predictable training process, document volunteer expectations/policies for quick reference and ease of training. Implement volunteer appreciation in a predictable rhythm.
Oversee the budget of the Children’s Ministry Department (including curriculum, supplies, Bibles/gifts, volunteer appreciation, etc.).
Uphold and make visible procedures like bathroom protocol, fire evacuation, allergy supervision, etc. for Sunday mornings.
Collaborate with the Registration Teams and Assimilation Teams to greet and follow up with recent guests to the Children’s Ministry department.
Develop environments and procedures to better welcome children with special needs or trauma backgrounds.


Ability to work well with various types of people.
Desire to have students and families learn together about Jesus Christ.
Experience working with children in the educational or church environment.


Bachelor Degree
A degree or experience in children’s ministry, education and/or Biblical Studies.
Ministry experience supervising staff.

The Director of Children’s Ministry reports to the Director of Ministry Operations.

Full-time. Presence is required on Sundays.
